It seems that the White racist who shot up a grocery store full of Black people last weekend cited GRT in his 180-page \u201cmanifesto.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First of all, journalists need to understand that GRT is only a theory taught in advanced law school seminars. It is not something designed for indoctrination of mass audiences of young people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So what is GRT? <em>The New York Times<\/em>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/05\/15\/us\/replacement-theory-shooting-tucker-carlson.html\">describes<\/a>&nbsp;it thus:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c[T]he notion that Western elites, sometimes manipulated by Jews, want to \u2018replace\u2019 and disempower white Americans.\u201d (You want a conspiracy theory about a secretive cabal of Jews? Check out the Times\u2019 series of articles on \u201cneoconservatives\u201d back in the early 2000s.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But then \u2014 just as every argument about abortion suddenly becomes an argument about contraception \u2014 a few paragraphs later, the crackpot theory jumps from a Jewish cabal replacing whites with blacks \u2026 to the idea that Democrats are using immigration \u201cfor electoral gains.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wow, that&nbsp;<em>is<\/em> nuts! Where\u2019d anybody get that idea?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oh yeah \u2014 from liberals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here\u2019s Democratic consultant Patrick Reddy in 1998:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe 1965 Immigration Reform Act promoted by President Kennedy, drafted by Attorney General Robert Kennedy, and pushed through the Senate by Ted Kennedy has resulted in a wave of immigration from the Third World that should shift the nation in a more liberal direction within a generation. It will go down as the Kennedy family\u2019s greatest gift to the Democratic Party.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(Well, sure, if you want to totally overlook skirt-chasing and pill-popping.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then in 2002, Democrats Ruy Teixeira and John Judis wrote \u201cThe Emerging Democratic Majority,\u201d arguing that demographic changes, mostly by immigration, were putting Democrats on a glide path to an insuperable majority. After Obama\u2019s reelection in 2012, Teixeira&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/politics\/archive\/2012\/11\/the-emerging-democratic-majority-turns-10\/265005\/\">crowed<\/a>&nbsp;in The Atlantic (which was then a magazine that people read, as opposed to a billionaire widow\u2019s charity) that \u201cten years farther down this road,\u201d Obama lost the white vote outright, but won the election with the minority vote \u2014 African-Americans (93-6), Hispanics (71-27) and Asian-Americans (73-26).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A year later, the National Journal\u2019s Ron Brownstein began touting the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/politics\/archive\/2013\/02\/with-new-support-base-obama-doesnt-need-right-leaning-whites-anymore\/429972\/\">Coalition of the Ascendant<\/a>,\u201d gloating that Democrats didn\u2019t need blue-collar whites anymore.&nbsp;<em>Woo hoo!<\/em>&nbsp;Obama \u201clost more than three-fifths of noncollege whites and whites older than 45.\u201d But who cares? He crushed with \u201cminorities (a combined 80%).\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAdios, Reagan Democrats,\u201d he says gleefully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Democratic pollster Stanley Greenberg\u2019s 2019 book, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/newrepublic.com\/article\/156411\/end-gop\">RIP GOP<\/a>,\u201d explains the coming death of the Republican Party as a result of \u2026 sucking up to Wall Street? Pushing pointless wars? Endlessly cutting taxes? NO! The GOP\u2019s demise would come from the fact that \u201cour country is hurtling toward a New America that is ever more racially and culturally diverse \u2026 more immigrant and foreign born.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And these were the genteel, nonthreatening descriptions of how immigration was consigning White voters to the Aztec graveyard of history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On MSNBC, they\u2019re constantly sneering about \u201cold white men\u201d and celebrating the \u201cbrowning of America.\u201d A group called&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.ph\/YnH8n\">Battleground Texas<\/a>&nbsp;boasts about flipping that deep red state to the Democrats \u2014 simply by getting more Hispanics to vote. Blogs are giddily titled, \u201cThe Irrelevant South\u201d (\u201cthe traditional white South \u2014 socially and economically conservative \u2014 is no longer relevant in national politics\u201d). MSNBC\u2019s Joy Ann Reid tweets that she is \u201cgiddy\u201d watching \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JoyAnnReid\/status\/1512129851167281155?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">all the bitter old white guys<\/a>\u201d as Ketanji Brown Jackson \u201cmakes history.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This week, the media\u2019s leading expert on the crazies who believe in replacement theory is Tim Wise, popping up on both MSNBC and CNN to psychoanalyze the White \u201cracists.\u201d He\u2019s been quoted, cited or praised dozens of times in <em>The New York Times<\/em>. This isn\u2019t some fringe character, despite appearances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2010, Wise wrote an \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.timwise.org\/2010\/11\/an-open-letter-to-the-white-right-on-the-occasion-of-your-recent-successful-temper-tantrum\/\">Open Letter to the White Right<\/a>\u201d that began:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cFor all y\u2019all rich folks, enjoy that champagne, or whatever fancy ass Scotch you drink.<\/em><br><em>\u201cAnd for y\u2019all a bit lower on the economic scale, enjoy your Pabst Blue Ribbon, or whatever shitty ass beer you favor \u2026<\/em><br><em>\u201cBecause your time is limited.<\/em><br><em>\u201cReal damned limited.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Guess why! Wise explained:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cIt is math.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wait, isn\u2019t math racist? But moving on \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cBecause you\u2019re on the endangered list.<\/em><br><em>\u201cAnd unlike, say, the bald eagle or some exotic species of muskrat, you are not worth saving.<\/em><br><em>\u201cIn 40 years or so, maybe fewer, there won\u2019t be any more white people around who actually remember that Leave It to Beaver \u2026\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Have you ever noticed how obsessed liberals are with \u201cLeave It to Beaver\u201d?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cIt\u2019s OK. Because in about 40 years, half the country will be black or brown. And there is nothing you can do about it.<\/em><br><em>\u201cNothing, Senor Tancredo.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After several more paragraphs of mocking White people, Wise ended with this stirring conclusion:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cWe just have to be patient.<\/em><br><em>\u201cAnd wait for you to pass into that good night, first politically, and then, well \u2026<\/em><br><em>\u201cDo you hear it?<\/em><br><em>\u201cThe sound of your empire dying? Your nation, as you knew it, ending, permanently?<\/em><br><em>\u201cBecause I do, and the sound of its demise is&nbsp;<\/em>beautiful<em>.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To Wise, the best way to kill the antisemitic trope of Jewish elites waging war against whites is to be a Jewish elite waging war against Whites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I don\u2019t know about the Jewish cabal version of GRT, but as for liberals using immigration to bring in more Democratic voters, as Maya Angelou said, \u201cWhen people show you who they are, believe them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking of theories involving Jewish cabals \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The New York Times&nbsp;<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2003\/08\/04\/international\/europe\/the-leoconservatives.html\">on neoconservatives<\/a>, Aug. 4, 2003:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFor the past few weeks, U.S. President George W.
