Representatives of Quebec’s business community joined\u00a0Labour Minister\u00a0Sam\u00a0Hamad\u00a0and Immigration Minister Kathleen\u00a0Weil\u00a0Tuesday\u00a0in a joint appeal\u00a0to the province’s\u00a0employers.<\/p>\n

Hamad, himself an immigrant from Syria, said employment is the best way to help the refugees integrate into Quebec society.<\/p>\n

“Work is the best way to learn about Quebec’s culture, to learn French,” he told a news conference.<\/p>\n

“They’ve obtained their\u00a0visa to liberty, their visa for dreams and ambitions. Now it’s up to us to work with\u00a0them.”<\/p>\n

Refugees will begin arriving in Canada on Dec.10.<\/p>\n
