Our  Globalist Ottawa elite cannot replace the traditions of the European founding\/settler, mostly Christian people fast enough. Photo by JEROME LESSARD \/Postmedia file<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The new directive comes after last year\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/department-national-defence\/corporate\/reports-publications\/mnd-advisory-panel-systemic-racism-discrimination-final-report-jan-2022.html\">report from the defence minister\u2019s systemic racism and discrimination advisory panel<\/a> that recommended Canada cease hiring chaplains from faiths with more traditional beliefs and recommended sweeping changes for the CAF chaplaincy program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Religion, the report states, should be considered a \u201csource of suffering and generational trauma\u201d for some Canadians.Article content<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is especially true for many lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and two-spirited members of Canadian society,\u201d the report read in its sixth recommendation, entitled \u201cre-defining chaplaincy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many Canadian military chaplains, the report states, \u201crepresent or are affiliated with organized religions whose beliefs are not synonymous with those of a diverse and inclusive workplace.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Top in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/department-national-defence\/corporate\/reports-publications\/mnd-advisory-panel-systemic-racism-discrimination-final-report-jan-2022\/part-iii-areas-of-opportunity-recommendations.html#toc5\">the report\u2019s recommendations<\/a>&nbsp;was avoiding hiring chaplains affiliated with \u201creligious groups whose values are not aligned with those of the defence team.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In response to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/world\/exclusive-woke-mentality-military-chaplains-decry-new-directive-banning-religious-prayer-5514303\">report last week in the Epoch Times<\/a> that the new directive would ban chaplains from leading public prayers at Remembrance Day ceremonies next month, Defence Minister Bill Blair denied the accusation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cCanadian Forces chaplains are not \u2014 and will not be \u2014 banned from prayer on Remembrance Day, nor at any other time,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BillBlair\/status\/1715093361311330482\">he posted on X, formerly Twitter<\/a>. \u201cThe Chaplain General\u2019s directive seeks to ensure that public addresses reflect the spiritual and religious diversity of Canadians.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The director of chaplaincy services for the Royal Canadian Chaplaincy Service has said however that in public ceremonies the directive urges that there should be no mention of God or religion. &nbsp;Article content<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn certain settings, in faith-based settings and church settings, they (chaplains) of course will speak about their own faith and the role that God or their heavenly being has in that setting,\u201d Col. Lisa Pacarynuk <a href=\"https:\/\/omny.fm\/shows\/580-cfra\/tmr-colonel-lisa-pacarynuk-interview-no-more-praye\">told radio host Graham Richardson at Ottawa\u2019s CFRA<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBut in a public setting where there are people who do not believe in God or people who bring different perspectives, they will not use that language.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During Tuesday\u2019s House Veterans Affairs Committee meeting, committee vice-chair Blake Richards tabled a motion calling for an investigation into what the Conservative party described as a \u201cgag order\u201d for chaplains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs a result of the directive I referenced in the motion, (chaplains) won\u2019t be able to pray for the fallen or pray for those who\u2019ve served this country at public ceremonies such as Remembrance Day,\u201d Richards said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt may restrict our ability to hear the words to In Flanders Fields because it references crosses. It may restrict our ability to sing the national anthem, because it references God.
