They intend to enshrine in the Constitution a ban on\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/substack.com\/redirect\/8e719f14-3004-45ba-a042-6aaa2fb83807?j=eyJ1IjoicTJoancifQ.AVoqWBk4RGhXFqdWW6qVpIVMFALIsiwyXvfm_IJ9AbQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dual nationals holding<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>certain public positions.&#8221;<\/em><br><br>In consideration of the current foreign interference scandal in Canada, it would be more than prudent for government to consider similar measures.In Canada, 56 foreign-born members,\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/substack.com\/redirect\/ae381259-59f4-4cdc-ba5a-d57128a5d3e1?j=eyJ1IjoicTJoancifQ.AVoqWBk4RGhXFqdWW6qVpIVMFALIsiwyXvfm_IJ9AbQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">22 of them<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0with dual or triple citizenship, hold seats in House of Commons and Senate. Some notables include Liberal MPs\u00a0<strong>Iqra Khalid<\/strong>(<em>Pakistan<\/em>),\u00a0<strong>Ahmed Hussen<\/strong>(<em>Somalia<\/em>), as well as triple citizenship holder\u00a0<strong>Salma Zahid\u00a0<\/strong>(<em>Pakistan, Britain, Canada<\/em>).Canadian MPs hold citizenship from nations as diverse as\u00a0<strong>Afghanistan, Lebanon, Pakistan, Syria,<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>United States<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>United Kingdom.<\/strong><br><br>A recent report on foreign interference from\u00a0<strong>NSICOP<\/strong>\u00a0offers a damning account of alleged corroboration between unnamed members of Parliament and foreign governments.<em>&#8220;The report noted that Pakistan\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/substack.com\/redirect\/e25c205e-39b6-4178-a3d5-1ec37c2f7516?j=eyJ1IjoicTJoancifQ.AVoqWBk4RGhXFqdWW6qVpIVMFALIsiwyXvfm_IJ9AbQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">targeted democratic institutions<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and processes in the early phase of the period under review\u201d. It said\u00a0<strong>China, India, Pakistan<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Iran<\/strong>\u00a0engaged in transnational repression.&#8221;<\/em>Would it not be a common sense decision to ban dual citizenship for MPs in Canada? <br><br>We note the degree of political discourse suggesting this very thing. CBC?\u00a0<em>Nothing.<\/em>\u00a0Toronto Star?\u00a0<em>Nothing.<\/em>\u00a0Globe &amp; Mail?\u00a0<em>Nothing.<\/em> Common sense Canadians shouldn\u2019t be surprised. PM\u00a0<strong>Justin Trudeau<\/strong>\u00a0wouldn&#8217;t make this move for all the tea in China. For him, dual loyalty to foreign nations is something to be rewarded. <br><br>Not so for another member of the British Commonwealth, the land down under,\u00a0<strong>Australia.<\/strong><em>&#8220;Dual citizenship would disqualify them from holding office in Australia, where Section 44 of the Constitution bars anyone\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/substack.com\/redirect\/ae381259-59f4-4cdc-ba5a-d57128a5d3e1?j=eyJ1IjoicTJoancifQ.AVoqWBk4RGhXFqdWW6qVpIVMFALIsiwyXvfm_IJ9AbQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">who is a citizen<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>of a &#8216;foreign power&#8217; from sitting in Parliament.&#8221;<\/em>Can it be fairly stated that &#8220;some people&#8221; in our society are accepting of foreign interference?\u00a0<br><br><strong>CAP<\/strong>\u00a0can see why &#8220;multicultural&#8221; non-profit organizations may possibly be in favour of such a thing. In 2017, a Muslim-Canadian non-profit enthusiastically endorsed the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/substack.com\/redirect\/de9d3540-0521-476c-aec1-4246243c2d2c?j=eyJ1IjoicTJoancifQ.AVoqWBk4RGhXFqdWW6qVpIVMFALIsiwyXvfm_IJ9AbQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">M103<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0<em>&#8220;Islamophobia&#8221;<\/em>\u00a0motion tabled by half-Pakistani MP Iqra Khalid.As for the upcoming election in France, media in Canada are knowingly downplaying current events.\u00a0French voters will head to the polls on June 30, 2024. <br><br>One week previous to the election support for Marine Le Pen\u2019s far-right\u00a0<strong>National Rally<\/strong>\u00a0party continues to surge.<em>&#8220;French President Emmanuel Macron\u2019s approval rating fell six points to match a historic low on Friday, with just over a week before voting starts in the two-round legislative election.&#8221;<\/em> <br><br>French women voters are swinging sharply to the right.<em>&#8220;Marine Le Pen\u2019s anti-immigration\u00a0<strong>National Rally<\/strong>\u00a0is tipped to win the most votes in a two-round snap election on June 30 and July 7 that could crush the liberal centrists of President\u00a0<strong>Emmanuel Macron<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/substack.com\/redirect\/0d547cf3-e201-4295-b9e9-211af42248ae?j=eyJ1IjoicTJoancifQ.AVoqWBk4RGhXFqdWW6qVpIVMFALIsiwyXvfm_IJ9AbQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">and women<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0are increasingly driving her party\u2019s surging political fortunes.&#8221;<\/em>Let us note the irony. <br><br>The Canadian government, along with media and academia, perpetually pump-up the need for gender equality in our society. Justin Trudeau champions the cause with vigor, appointing female MP to key roles within Cabinet.Yet, when the female tide comes in as decidedly &#8220;right-wing&#8221; in orientation, the powers that be are quiet as a church mouse. Pulling the wool over Canadian eyes, the &#8220;woke left&#8221; desperately hope none of this spills over into Canada. To minimize exposure, media systemically bury all that would detract from Trudeau&#8217;s iron-clad control of society.<br><br>When it comes to French citizenship in general,\u00a0<strong>Le Pen<\/strong>\u00a0said that she would\u00a0<em>&#8220;allow it only to people who have earned it and assimilated.&#8221;<\/em>Not in Canada, eh? Pity. On our soil, convicted terrorists are coddled by our ruling government:<em>\u201cThe<strong>\u00a0Liberal Party<\/strong>\u00a0believes\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/substack.com\/redirect\/1a1c51e4-7204-4433-b5c5-b2325c16d8c3?j=eyJ1IjoicTJoancifQ.AVoqWBk4RGhXFqdWW6qVpIVMFALIsiwyXvfm_IJ9AbQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">that terrorists<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0should get to keep their Canadian citizenship&#8230;because I do. And I&#8217;m willing to take on anyone who disagrees with that.\u201d<\/em><br><br>Damn, this Trudeau character is one strange cat. Drilling down on the foreign interference scandal offers up an additional piece of damnation via the\u00a0<strong>NSICOP<\/strong>\u00a0report: <em>\u201cAll forms of media, including\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/substack.com\/redirect\/87504fb8-68d3-4b5c-88ba-9408f7418e74?j=eyJ1IjoicTJoancifQ.AVoqWBk4RGhXFqdWW6qVpIVMFALIsiwyXvfm_IJ9AbQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">mainstream media,<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0are being subjected to interference by bad actors,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0stated NSICOP chairman David McGuinty.Upon which we attain clarity on the situation.\u00a0According to the report, both the Feds and legacy media are being subjected to foreign interference. <br><br>We gain insight as to reasons why the Liberals, CBC, CTV and the rest refuse to articulate political reality in France. Canada has a large French population. The more\u00a0<strong>Quebecois<\/strong>\u00a0who become aware of Marine Le Pen&#8217;s popularity, the greater the chances Canadians could follow suit. Result? A media &#8220;shut-out&#8221; on the current French election, one week away from fruition.Logic dictates that the time has come to minimize foreign subversion within our political system. One concrete measure is to ban dual and triple citizenship in the Canadian Parliament. Endorsement from Canadian media?
