{"id":3736,"date":"2024-10-05T06:53:34","date_gmt":"2024-10-05T06:53:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canadafirst.nfshost.com\/?p=3736"},"modified":"2024-10-05T06:53:34","modified_gmt":"2024-10-05T06:53:34","slug":"is-this-what-they-mean-by-white-privilege","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canadafirst.nfshost.com\/?p=3736","title":{"rendered":"Is This What They Mean By White Privilege?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Is This What They Mean By White Privilege?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>POLITICIANS and FIRST NATIONS CHIEFS &amp; BAND COUNCIL MEMBERS REMUNERATION\u00a0<\/strong><strong>The City of Thompson, Manitoba with 13,446 residents pay their Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Council Members at total of $80,474.45 annually for taxable salaries\u00a0and per diems (the Mayor&#8217;s annual indemnity is $29,745.45 per annum, Council Members are paid $9,915.15 per annum and the Deputy Mayor gets $11,068.40 per annum).<\/strong><strong>That seems fair <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&#8230;.<\/strong><strong>NOW THIS &#8230;. which  i<\/strong><strong>s SO DISTURBING.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Brokenhead Ojibway Nation with a registered population of 1,918 are paying their FN Chief and Band Council Members a total of $415,357 in TAX-FREE salaries and per diems PLUS $1,557,766 in tobacco and fuel tax rebates.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Long Plains First Nation @ Portage La Prairie with a registered population of 813\u00a0paying their FN Chief and Band Council Members a total of $539,918 in tax-free salaries and per diems.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Little Grand Rapids First Nation with a registered population of 1,590 are paying their FN Chief and Band Council Members a total of $706,182 in tax-free salaries and per diems.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Buffalo Point First Nation with a registered population of 126\u00a0are paying their FN Chief and Band Council Members a total of $300,000 in tax-free salaries and per diems.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Shoal Lake No. 40 First Nation in Ontario with a registered on-reserve population of 293 people paid their FN Chief and Band Council $267,799 in tax-free salaries, never mind the $58,930 in tax-free expenses.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Mathias Colomb First Nation with a registered population of 3,192 are paying their FN Chief and Band Council Members a total of $601,726 in tax-free salaries and per diems.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Samson Cree First Nation with a registered population of 8,059 are paying their FN Chief and Band Council Members a total of $2,149,998 in tax-free salaries andper diems ($266.78 per capita).F<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>F<strong>ort McKay First Nation with a registered population of 827 (It\u2019s not a typo, it\u2019s\u00a0 827) paying their FN Chief and Band Council Members a total of $2,067,098 in tax-free salaries and per diems, never mind the $151,428 in travel expenses ($2,499.51 per capita).\u00a0Chief Jim Boucher was paid an annual tax-free salary of$644,441 tax-free ($53,703 per month) and tax-free expenses of $35,359 ($2,947 per month) as well as tax-free other remuneration $25,000 ($2,083 per month) ohhh and\u00a0tax-free travel expenses of $60,157 ($5,013 per month)!!!!! YES &#8230; PER MONTH!!!<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Enoch Cree First Nation with a registered population of 2,469 are paying their FN Chief and Band Council Members a total of $1,159,707 in tax-free salaries and per diems never mind $84,030 in travel expenses ($503.74 per capita). They&#8217;re also paying their Board of Directors $1,511,457 in tax-free salaries and tax-free expenses.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>No wonder there is so much poverty with many of OUR First Nations and Metis Brothers and Sisters &#8230;. NO Water in some places, INADEQUATE and DEPLAPATED housing, NO health Facilities, etc.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The money can\u2019t seem to get past the Chiefs and Council Members in a lot of cases!<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Is This What They Mean By White Privilege?
