City Hall dumped 140-year-old Christopher Columbus artwork in woods
Bureaucrats ordered the stone carving to be hidden in a forest and all references to the artifact to be scrubbed from the internet

City bureaucrats ordered a 140-year-old stone carving depicting Christopher Columbus to be removed from display and hidden in a wooden area in Scarborough’s Guild Park in 2021, the Toronto Sun has learned.
According to emails obtained in a freedom-of-information request, the decision came at about the same time that a volunteer group was directed by city staff to scrub from the internet any of its references to Columbus or the stone that depicted the 15th-century explorer.
“They are setting it in the ‘forest’ a few metres from the base,” Barb McLean, of the city’s economic development and culture department, wrote to colleagues in an October 2021 email. “There was not enough time to change the plans without delaying the removal.”
McLean added that a member of the Friends of Guild Park group suggested taking down a monument can be “an emotional thing for people,” but she replied that she wanted it “removed with little fanfare.”
McLean also expressed concern that dumping it far into the woods, as was ultimately done, would require the permission of the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority or the city’s forestry officials.
“We don’t want it to look like it was removed by vandalism,” McLean added. “If it is found in the trees on its own even years from now, it might cause a stir.”
Guild Park, near the Scarborough Bluffs, is billed by the city as a “sculptural sanctuary” where old architectural treasures are put out to pasture, such as stone depictions of the pre-amalgamation Toronto coat of arms recently featured in the Sun.
The Columbus artwork is part of a series of 17 stones that also features depictions of Queen Victoria and King Edward VII, as well as other prominent figures such as the Italian Renaissance artist Raphael. The stones were featured for decades on the exterior of what was called the Richmond Building in London, Ont., which was torn down in the late 1960s.
While the stones have long been in the park’s collection, they only began to be put on display in October 2020, starting with the Columbus, Victoria and Edward stones. Complaints followed about Columbus, the emails state, but the single example cited in the documents did not specify a problem with the stone, simply saying it should be “replaced with work by an Indigenous artist.”
McLean, then a senior project co-ordinator for the city’s capital assets unit, wasn’t much more detailed in her criticisms of Columbus, saying “the concept of ‘discovery’ is highly problematic” and predicting some would be “hurt” by the sight of the artifact.
McLean has since retired, a city spokesman confirmed.
In a statement this week, Russell Baker, the city’s manager of media relations and issues management, told the Sun the stone was “temporarily removed from its base” three years ago “and relocated to another location in Guild Park while city staff take steps to add an interpretative plaque with the stone structure.”
“While details are still being finalized, the city is planning to consult with the Guild Park stakeholders group to develop an interpretative plaque. Once the plaque has been installed, the stone portrait will be returned to its original location,” Baker added.
But the 2021 emails make no mention of the move being anything but permanent – and they show City Hall wanted the Columbus stone out of sight both at Guild Park and on the internet.
Julie Frost, manager of arts and culture services at the economic development and culture department, directed the president of Friends of Guild Park to take a video off the internet and restore it only after any mention of Columbus had been cut.
In a brief statement to the Sun, Friends of Guild Park referred all questions to city staff.
Interestingly, Frost had months earlier appeared to minimize any concerns about the Columbus stone.
“With the city’s emphasis on decolonization, I hope we don’t find ourselves faced with a situation where we’re asked to remove profiles of historic figures like Victoria, Edward and Columbus. It’s hard to predict the response to this content in 2021,” Frost’s colleague Jo Ann Pynn wrote in July of that year.

Anger at Church archdeacon’s call for ‘anti-whiteness’

The Ven Miranda Threlfall-Holmes insisted she was ‘not anti-white’
A Church of England archdeacon has called for “anti-whiteness”, in comments which have been criticised as divisive.
The Ven Miranda Threlfall-Holmes, Archdeacon of Liverpool, also called for people to “smash the patriarchy” but insisted her comments were “not anti-white, or anti-men”.
Her statement prompted an angry reaction, with one person asking if it would be “safe to attend church” if Dr Threlfall-Holmes “holds racial prejudice against white people”.
Just weeks ago, the church announced it would be hiring a “deconstructing whiteness” officer as part of a new 11-person “racial justice unit” being set up by the Diocese of Birmingham.
Senior clergy have also faced criticism for calling for the church’s £100 million slavery reparations fund to be increased to £1 billion.
Dr Threlfall-Holmes wrote on X, formerly Twitter: “I went to a conference on whiteness last autumn. It was very good, very interesting and made me realise: whiteness is to race as patriarchy is to gender.
“So yes, let’s have anti-whiteness, and let’s smash the patriarchy. That’s not anti-white, or anti-men, it’s anti-oppression.”
In response, users of X suggested that if the Cambridge-educated priest wanted “anti-whiteness” then she should “lead by example and resign”.
Some described her comments as “racist” and one asked: “Why do you seek to divide when your job description is literally to bring people together?”
Her words were criticised as “divisive” and “nonsensical” and one user said it would appear she had “given up Christianity to join a new and sinister cult”.
Dr Threlfall-Holmes, who was appointed archdeacon last year, also holds a role advising church leaders on implanting safeguarding reforms.
Last October she revealed she was attending a conference on “waking up to and addressing whiteness in the Anglican church”.
The day-long “Racial Justice Conference” in Birmingham was organised by Reconciliation Initiatives, a charity working in partnership with Coventry Cathedral to help churches “contribute to reconciliation in wider society”.
The aims of the conference included: “To encourage white participants to take next steps in facing their own whiteness, and in addressing institutional racism within Anglican churches and provinces.”
The charity also runs a four-week “Being White” course aimed at clergy and lay members who “identify racially as white” to help them address “the ways we are caught up in a system of white superiority and white advantage in UK society”.
‘A way of viewing the world’
When asked about the apparent contradictions in her comments, Dr Threlfall-Holmes told The Telegraph: “I was contributing to a debate about world views, in which ‘whiteness’ does not refer to skin colour per se, but to a way of viewing the world where being white is seen as ‘normal’ and everything else is considered different or lesser.”
Dr Threlfall-Holmes, a historian, added: “I do however understand that this is not a definition that is widely shared as yet outside of academic circles, and regret that Twitter [X] was perhaps not the best place for a nuanced argument.”
She praised the comments of the Bishop of Birmingham, the Rt Revd Dr Michael Volland, who last week defended the decision of his diocese to oppose a “deconstructing whiteness” officer on the basis that the phrase can be “misleading” and “has nothing to do with knocking or demeaning people who have white skin”.
The use of such terminology has previously been criticised by the Archbishop of Canterbury, who said it was similar to language used in the television sitcom W1A, which satirised BBC managerial jargon.
The Rev Dr Ian Paul, who is a member of the General Synod and the Archbishops’ Council, has warned that “importing” such language from the culture wars in the US risks “alienating ordinary members of the Church of England”.
Dear Mr. Lecce,
My ancestors immigrated from England to Toronto (York as it was then called) in 1829, I am proud of my English colonial heritage. It is very discouraging to witness the government, of which you are a Minister, go along with the lunatic stated policies at the Toronto District School Board, that instruct teachers that education is a negative “colonial structure that centers whiteness ” and other ridiculous comments such as “white supremacy must be dismantled”.. THIS SORT OF COMMENT IS AN INSULT TO ME.
For generations, there has always been a lunatic Marxist fringe in political life, however now these people have infected the education system and have taken it over. YOU SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWING THIS. Schools are being use as media to indoctrinate kids into Marxism. If they get away with it, THIS WILL BE THE END OF OUR SOCIETY, as they create their dysfunctional “utopia”.
I know white parents who are taking their kids out of public schools, home-schooling them, because they do not want them to be exposed to this garbage.. YET YOU SUPPORT THIS ! In doing so, you are failing the people who are suppose to be the base of your political party.
It was recently announced that Black History would be a required course in a number of grades in school. This is very disturbing, because these questionable courses will be displacing other subjects. Young people today learn very, very little about more important subjects like Canadian History, Confederation and who Sir John A Macdonald was. I have yet to meet anyone under the age of 30 who can recite the names of all of the Prime Ministers since Confederation. Many people have no idea who is on our dollar bills.
Colonialism is what created our great country. Before white Anglo Saxons and Europeans came here the indigenous tribes were simply stone-age hunter-gathers and they would have remained that way.
Making Black History courses mandatory will further result in the destruction of our country, which is already well under way.
A Conservative government like yours is supposed to conserve things, OR DID YOU FORGET THAT?

Ontario school allegedly shows students vile anti-Catholic video of ‘priest’ abusing ‘Mother Earth’
The disturbing video, which depicts a cassocked ‘priest’ assaulting a scantily-clad woman representing ‘Mother Earth,’ was blasted by student activist Josh Alexander who wrote on social media: ‘Why is this conduct ok but Christianity isn’t?’ Screenshot from the video titled ‘The Sickness’ by Josee BourgeoisNational Arts Centre | Centre national des Arts / YouTube

DOUGLAS, Ontario (LifeSiteNews) — An Ontario high school reportedly played a disturbing anti-Catholic video for students which depicted a “priest” abusing “Mother Earth” – with “Mother Earth” being portrayed by a scantily-clad woman.
On December 8, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Renfrew County District School Board (RCDSB) showed students at Opeongo High School in Douglas, Ontario, a short film titled “The Sickness: Earth,” according to student activist Josh Alexander. https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/eOBuniSkwtY?iv_load_policy=3&modestbranding=1&rel=0&autohide=1&playsinline=0&autoplay=1&enablejsapi=1
“On Friday the @RCDSB at Opeongo high school played this video for the entire school to see,” Alexander posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. “My little brother was recently suspended from the same high school for wearing my ‘Save Canada’ hat.” https://platform.twitter.com/embed/Tweet.html?dnt=false&embedId=twitter-widget-Article continues below Petition — Stand with Josh Alexander against school that allows boys to use girls’ bathrooms Show Petition Text 20544 have signed the petition.Let’s get to 22500! The video, published by the National Arts Centre (NAC) Indigenous Theatre, depicts a scantily-clad indigenous woman burning incense outside a presumably Catholic church. She is then approached by a person depicting a cassocked priest holding a rosary. The video shows the so-called priest assaulting the woman and tearing off her indigenous necklace.
The film ends with the faux priest forcing the woman to hold a crucifix while throwing away the pair of baby moccasins she was holding.
It’s unclear why the video was shown to students, especially considering it has a warning notice that it contains “mature themes” and “disturbing content.” LifeSiteNews contacted RCDSB to question why the film was shown but has not received a response by time of publication.
The film’s artistic director, choreographer, and dancer Josée Bourgeois wrote that the video expresses “what I feel inside when I allow my spirit to tell a story about this land.”
“I feel the darkness, the secrets and the sickness in the earth,” she continued. “Trauma embeds itself in our bodies’ tissue and deep into the earth when we don’t nurture it back to health. This film and dance offering is an exploration of that dark energy and truth. The energy that resides in some territories is seeping to the surface, screaming to be heard.”
“As a dancer and storyteller, I want to open the conversation a little bit more about what we can truly carry inside,” Bourgeois added.
Bourgeois, an Algonquin First Nations artist, works as the Indigenous Student Graduation Coach at the RCDSB, and according to a video interview published by Alexander, has publicly promoted the use of marijuana.
“I don’t know if I’m ever going to quit smoking joints,” Bourgeois can be seen saying in the video.
“This individual is currently employed at the @rcdsb while my parents were put off and my little brother was suspended in the same board,” Alexander wrote on X. https://platform.twitter.com/embed/Tweet.html?dnt=false&embedId=twitter-widget-
“She flaunted her scantily clad body to the entire school in a presentation. Why is this conduct ok but Christianity isn’t?” Alexander added.

The Latest Anti-White Outrage by Corporate America
Another anti-White corporate giant. Boycott Coke’s glorified sugar water.
“Coke Requires Diverse Lawyers”, in Seattle Times, January 30, 2021. p. A12.
The world’s largest producer of sugar water warns that it will not contract with law firms that have too many White lawyers. Coca-Cola said it would no longer tolerate excuses, and the number of White lawyers in the firms it deals with must be reduced immediately.
At least 30% of lawyers in such firms must be diverse [not White] and 15% must be Black., and this percentage will be gradually raised to 50% POC. Any law firm that is too White will be docked 30% of fees at first, and then will be permanently blacklisted.
