RE:  SAVE THE JOHN A. MACDONALD STATUE AT THE FOOT OF QUEEN’S PARK

I am writing to you because I am a patriotic Canadian with a family history in the Toronto area going back six generations. I am concerned about the wanton destruction of our proud history by the political left.  I am even more concerned by the apparent compliance of the Progressive Conservative government of Ontario, giving into violent Marxist vandals every time they raise a fuss.

My immigrant ancestor, William Lawson, was a Methodist preacher who came to Toronto in 1829, from Cumberland County, England. He almost certainly would have known Egerton Ryerson personally.     In my opinion, Ryerson has been treated in a biased and unfair way by historical revisionists, who are determined to portray him in a negative manner.  Following the implementation of Responsible Government in 1848, Ryerson helped to design the education curriculum and his progressive policies were intended to assist the indigenous people, not harm them.

In June of 2021, a group of leftist vandals, including Peruvian national, Miguel Avila Valerde and others, toppled and destroyed the statue of Egerton Ryerson, on Gould Street, at the Ryerson University Campus.  The incident occurred after a demonstration to support the alleged 215 indigenous children whose bodies were allegedly found buried in an apple orchard at the site of the former Indian residential school in Kamloops, British Columbia.

In the June 2021 Ryerson campus incident, the police were apparently on site, but they left the site and did NOTHING to stop the statue’s destruction.  I subsequently spoke to a number of police from the relevant Division and the response they allude to is that they did not prevent the destruction because they did not have the support of Toronto City Council and other levels of Government and none of the police wanted to be featured apprehending a vandal, on a cell phone video, mounted on YOU TUBE, which might end their careers.

Miguel Velarde is from Peru. What do you suppose would happen if I went to Peru and proceeded to attack a statue of Simon Bolivar, the founder and liberator of a number of Latin American countries from Spanish colonial rule ?   I expect I might be jailed and deported, however an Ecuadorian acquaintance of mine has advised that I would probably be killed by the local people, as they love their country and cherish its founder.  This is in contrast to us here in Canada, where children have been brainwashed in schools to hate their country and to despise its founding fathers.. WHY ?   

We are witnessing the increased influence of cultural Marxists, who follow a textbook method in the playbook of communist propaganda, which involves always having a narrative of victimization they can promote.  They have to have a victim and a villain. If they do not have a convenient villain available, then they will manufacture one by twisting the truth and telling lies.  In recent years they have vilified the founder of Halifax, Edward Cornwallis and had his statue taken down, using a stacked committee, set up by Halifax City council.   The Marxist  historical revisionists then  moved on to Egerton Ryerson and then to John A. Macdonald. After they are finished with these two important figures, they will next attack Wilfred Laurier and William Lyon Mackenzie King.  The ultimate goal is the erasure of any important white Anglo-Saxon people from our history books, in order to pave the way for implementation of Globalist-Marxist “utopian” society.   This is not the sort of world I want to live in.

People like me will vote for a Conservative government because we want the government to CONSERVE things, to maintain status quo.  Increasingly, so called conservative governments in this country very quickly bend to the left, as soon as they get into office, betraying their traditional base in the process.   Erin O’Toole is a good example of this.

In a news broadcast, you referred to the “human remains” that were allegedly discovered at the site of the Kamloops Indian residential school.  In researching this topic, I have spent many hours reviewing various news reports and so called “expert” opinions. My view is also informed by fact that I have a degree in geology, I studied geophysical exploration and I worked in the exploration geophysics department at a large oil company in Calgary.  In contrast, Sarah Beaulieu, the woman who conducted the ground penetrating radar (GPR) survey upon which the inflammatory claims of 215 burials are based, is not a trained scientist, nor a professional, rather she is an anthropologist. She also has a conflict of interest, in view of her indigenous background.   People with a proper technical background will understand the limitations of the GPR : all it will tell you is where there is a contrast in the soil density, that’s all. In order to conclude that a human burial had taken place, you have to perform a dig.  To date NO EXCAVASIONS HAVE TAKEN PLACE AT KAMLOOPS AND THERE IS NO REAL EVIDENCE OF ANY BURIALS.  These facts points to the mostly likely reason why :  the entire narrative is a rather poorly concocted fraud. THERE NEVER WERE ANY BURIALS  in  the orchard at Kamloops.  The CBC Fifth Estate documentary on this site contains nothing but hearsay, myths and indirect allegations.  I spent hours going over that program, which was re-broadcast.    The conspirators in this drama know they have a problem, because as soon as the original allegations were questioned, the claims of 215 burials were quickly reduced to “200 potential burials”.

Federal Minster David Lametti recently has appointed an “interlocutor” (an indigenous women) and provided her with $10 million and two years to produce a report on native grievances and burial sites. She does not have authority to investigate crime. Her job will be to prevent a proper investigation. If the Kamloops orchard had been a real crime scene, the appropriate procedure would be for the RCMP to secure the area and then initiate a forensic examination and organize a dig, in junction with the local coroner’s office (as was the case with the Willie Pickton site, in lower mainland  B.C.).   The fact that this has not been done speaks volumes.   Reports also indicate that the RCMP is reluctant to get involved because it has been politicized.   The cops do not want to lose their jobs.                   

In connection with the Truckers’ Freedom Convoy in Ottawa in February 2022, you decried what you described as “desecration” of Ottawa monuments and statues, such as the War Memorial and the Terry Fox statue.  No defacing or lasting damage was done to either of these monuments.  Contrast your comments about these Ottawa monuments to the fate suffered by important statues here in Toronto, such as King Edward VII statue (by Brock) in Queen’s Park, the John A. Macdonald statue (by McCarthy)  in Queen’s Park South, which is now behind plywood, the Ryerson statue (by McCarthy), which has been destroyed and more recently the Robert Burns statue in Allen Gardens, which has been defaced and is at the center of an illegal native encampment, which the City of Toronto refuses to remove.  Why are you not equally outspoken about the latter monuments?  

It is unfortunate that the matter of the John A MacDonald statue was not dealt with in a more direct manner and instead it was given to Speaker, Ted Arnott, to deal with.  The obsequious words posted on plastic sign on the plywood box are nauseating to read.  Caving in to the political left only provides them with more incentive

Just last week, in an apparent repetition of the plywood boarding procedure, the monument to the 1885 North West Rebellion, by Walter Allward, was placed behind a plywood barrier.   Putting down the North West Rebellion was a unfortunate incident in Canadian history, however it had to be done.  Concern is that this statue will now suffer a fate similar to the one suffered by the statue of Edward Cornwallis, as Liberal stacked committees generally consign such important monuments to the dustbin of history.  This is because such monuments get in the way of Marxist propaganda. The Marxists want Ontario children to have little sense of their country’s proud history. In that manner they can more easily be corrupted into Globalist communism. Is that what you want?

PLEASE DO THE RIGHT THING, UNVEIL THE JOHN A. MACDONALD AND OTHER IMPORTANT STATUES AT QUEEN’S PARK ONCE AGAIN.  PLACE A GUARD ON DUTY TO PROTECT THEM AND TO DETER FURTHER VANDALISM.

The removal or desecration of statues on Canadian historical heroes is part of a psychological attack on the European founding/settler people of this country. The authorities have done little to the wrecking crew. Some cowardly self-haters like the City of Victoria have given in to the wrecking crew and removed the statue of the founder of our country Sir John A. Macdonald. Some will fault find and critique these heroes of the past. Sir John A. was hostile to Chinese immigration. So, too, were most Canadians at the time. Applying today’s politically correct sentiments misses the point. These men and women are being honoured for what they contributed or accomplished, not because they were saints.

Justin Trudeau’s habit of issuing fulsome apologies and buckets of cash to alleged victims of Canada’s past — the Komagata Maru, turning away the Jews on the St. Louis in 1939, etc. — leaves the impression that Old Stock Canada was a morally bereft country AND not worth preserving. If our history was rotten and our heroes all rotters, why should we seek to preserve ourselves and resist being replacement in the carefully organized Great Replacement of Canada’s European founding/settler people through mass Third World immigration

Attached are some random photos I found on  the Internet.. Included with them are photos of PERUVIAN NATIONAL,  MIGUEL AVILA VELARDE pictured with his local native militant friend, SKYLER WILLIAMS , in which the are gloating after the destruction of the  EGERTON RYERSON statue .  They destroyed it, with hammers, crowbars and a grinder….  WHY WERE THESE TWO NOT SENT TO JAIL???    THE EVIDENCE IS RIGHT THERE.


VELARDE was later involved in pulling down  and damaging the JOHN A MACDONALD STATUE , by WADE,. in HAMILTON…… IF HE HAS BEEN IN JAIL, WHERE HE BELONGS, HE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DO THIS.   NEXT,  VELARDE JUST RAN FOR CITY COUNCIL IN WARD 13 !     This is so strange you could not dream it up ! Why was he not charged? Why is he not forcefully confronted and told, “if you think the country YOU chose to immigrate to is so racist, why did you not stay in Peru?

Doug Ford complained of the “desecration”  of the Terry Fox statue  in OTTAWA (someone draped a Canadian flag over it during the Freedom Convoy protests). Has he denounced the desecration of other statues or taken steps to protect and re-exhibit the Macdonald statue in Queen’s Park in 2020?It has been encased in plywood. It should be reopened and a permanent guard stationed there.

The Kangaroo Court is Now in Session

The sixth of June is the anniversary of D-Day, the day, in 1944, when the Allied forces landed on the beach of Normandy and launched the offensive that would liberate Occupied Europe from the forces of Nazi Germany.  This year, on that date, something happened in the Upper Canadian city of London, which the government of the Dominion has declared to be an attack of an entirely different sort.  That evening a family was waiting to cross at an intersection, when a pickup truck ran into them.   One was killed on the spot, three later succumbed to the injuries they had sustained, a fifth was wounded but not fatally.

This would be a horrible occurrence, of course, under any circumstances.  It appears, however, that this was not just some terrible mishap where the driver lost control of his truck.  It seems to have been deliberate.    If this is indeed the case that makes it much worse because a crime is much worse than an accident.  I am speaking, obviously, about how the incident as a whole is to be evaluated.  The dead and wounded would have been no less dead and wounded in an equally fatal accident.

The London police very quickly announced that they were investigating this as a hate crime.   Indeed, the speed in which they made this announcement seems extremely irresponsible when we consider that virtually nothing in the way of evidence corroborating this interpretation of the incident has since been released.   This could be explained, perhaps, if the perpetrator, who soon after asked a taxi driver to call the police and thus essentially turned himself in, had confessed to being motivated by hate.   If this is the case, however, the police have not yet disclosed it.   From the facts that have been disclosed, the only apparent grounds for classifying it as a hate crime are the ethnicity and religion of the victims, who were Muslims and immigrants from Pakistan.

There are many who would say that just as a crime is worse than an accident, so a hate crime is worse than a regular crime.   I am not one of those.   There are basically two angles from which we can look at the distinction between hate crimes and regular crimes.   The first is the angle of motive.   Viewed from this angle, the distinction between hate crimes and regular crimes is that the former are motivated by prejudice – racial, religious, sexual, etc.- and the latter are not.   The second angle is the angle of the victim.   Viewed from this perspective, the distinction between hate crimes and regular crimes is that the victims of the former are members of racial, religious, or ethnic minorities, women, or something other than heterosexual and cisgender and the victims of the latter are not.  Viewed either way, however, the idea that a hate crime is much worse than a regular crime is extremely problematic.

Is it worse to take somebody’s life because you don’t like the colour of his skin than to take his life because you want his wallet?  

If we answer this question with yes then we must be prepared to support that answer with a reason.   It is difficult to come up with one that can stand up well under cross-examination.   One could try arguing, perhaps, that the murder motivated by prejudice is worse than the murder committed in the act of robbing someone on the grounds that whereas prejudice is irrational, wanting someone else’s money if you have desperate need of it yourself, is not.   This runs contrary to long-established judicial precedent, however.   If a man is so irrational that he is considered to be insane this is grounds for a plea of not guilty in a court of law.   Conversely, the man who did not go out intending to kill someone but does so in the act of stealing his wallet can be charged with first-degree murder.   This is because his intention to commit the crime of robbery makes it a premeditated act.  

Suppose, however, we take the view from the other angle and distinguish between hate crimes and regular crimes based upon the identity of the victims.   From this standpoint, the assertion that hate crimes are worse than regular crimes translates into the idea that it is worse commit a crime against members of such-and-such groups than it is to commit crimes against anyone else.  Worded that way, is there anyone who would be willing to sign on to such a statement?

The idea that hate crimes ought to be considered worse than regular crimes of the same nature but with other more mundane motivations arises out of the idea that “hate” itself ought to be treated as a crime.   The problem with this is that hate, whether in the ordinary sense of the word, or in the rather specialized sense of the word that is employed when discussing “hate speech”, “hate crimes”, “hate groups”, etc. is an attitude of the heart and mind.   To say that “hate” ought to be a crime, therefore, is to say that the government ought to legislate against certain types of thought.   This, however, has long been considered one of the distinguishing characteristics of bad government, government that is tyrannical and totalitarian.   Those familiar with George Orwell’s 1984 will remember that in the totalitarian state of Oceania there was a special police force tasked with tracking down anyone questioned, disagreed with, or otherwise dissented from the proclamations and ideology of the ruling Ingsoc Party and its leader Big Brother.   Such dissenters, including the novel’s protagonist Winston Smith, were regarded as being guilty of crimethink.    I’m quite certain that if Eric Blair were alive today he would be reminding us that this was supposed to be an example to avoid rather than one to emulate.

To return from the idea of hate crimes in general and in the abstract, to the specific, concrete, incident of the sixth of the June, the way our politicians and other civil leaders, aided and abetted by media pundits and religious leaders have been behaving is absolutely atrocious.   All evidence that has been released to the public to date points in the direction of this Nathaniel Veltman having been a “lone truckman”.   Our politicians, however, led by Captain Airhead and his goofy sidekick Jimmy Dhaliwal, but including Upper Canadian Premier Doug Ford and London Mayor Ed Holder, very quickly and very shamelessly politicized the incident and capitalized upon the suffering of the Afzaal family in order to shift the blame off of the actual perpetrator and onto the Canadian public in general with their incessant talk about “Islamophobia”.  

Once again Captain Airhead has been demonstrating his total inability to learn from his past mistakes.   One might think that the man who after building his political career upon a carefully constructed image as the poster boy for “woke” anti-racism was revealed to be a serial blackface artist would have learned a little humility and would have given up lecturing the Canadian public about how we all need to be more enlightened and less prejudiced.   Or that the man whose efforts to use inappropriate political influence to obtain a prosecutorial deal for a company that was a huge donor to his party landed him in the biggest political scandal of his career might have learned that it is not his place to issue proclamations about criminal guilt before the investigation is complete, charges have been laid, and a conviction obtained.   One would certainly hope that the man who has long made it a point of never calling acts of violence perpetrated in the name of Islam “terrorism” would not use this word to describe any act of violence committed against Muslims at the first opportunity that presented itself as if he lived in some fantasy world where Muslims could only be victims and never perpetrators of terrorism. Anyone thinking or hoping such things does not know Captain Airhead very well.

The cynical among us would observe first and foremost just how this incident seems tailor-made to fit Captain Airhead’s agenda.   Captain Airhead has made no secret of the fact that he wants Canadians to be less free to disagree with him on matters of race, religion, sex, etc.   Granted, he doesn’t word it that way, he says that free speech is important but it doesn’t include hate speech.     Here is the key to understanding him.   Every time someone says “I believe in free speech” or some equivalent statement expressing support for free speech and a “but” immediately follows that statement, everything that follows the “but” negates and nullifies everything that precedes it.   Captain Airhead has been trying since the beginning of his premiership to re-introduce laws forbidding Canadians from expressing views that he doesn’t like on the internet.    Bill C-10, introduced last fall for the ostensible purpose of bringing companies like Netflix under the same regulatory oversight of the CRTC as traditional broadcasters, has been widely regarded as a means of smuggling this sort of thing in through the back door, and the Liberals numerous attempts to circumvent open debate in the House so as to ram the bill through prior to the summer adjournment have hardly done anything to assuage such suspicions.   Captain Airhead was undoubtedly looking for an incident that he could blow out of proportion enabling him to grandstand and basically say, “See, I’m not a creepy little dictator-wannabee, I’m just trying to fight hate like the kind that we saw here”.     No, I’m not suggesting that Captain Airhead faked the incident.   I would not be surprised to learn, however, that some memorandum had been sent to law enforcement agencies telling them to be on the lookout for anything that could be plausibly spun as a hate crime, and to flag it as such regardless of the evidence or lack thereof.  

As for Jimmy Dhaliwal, the less said about his ridiculous assertions that Muslims are living in constant fear of their Islamophobic neighbours in Canada the better.   Such nonsense does not deserve the dignity of a response.

By politicizing this incident in this way, Captain Airhead and Jimmy Dhaliwal are, of course, trying to put the Canadian public in general on trial.   “It is because you are prejudiced against Muslims” they are saying in effect “that this happened, and so you are to blame for this young man’s actions, and therefore you must be punished by having more of your freedoms of thought, conscience, and speech taken from you”.   For years the Left has put the Canada of the past, and her founders and historical figures and heroes on trial over the Indian Residential Schools.  It has been the kind of trial where only the prosecution is allowed to present evidence and the defense is not allowed to cross-examine much less present a case of its own.   Over the past few weeks this mockery of a trial has been renewed due to the non-news item of the discovery of an unmarked cemetery at the Residential School in Kamloops.   The incident in London is now being exploited by the Left to put living Canadians of the present day on the same sort of unjust trial before the same sort of kangaroo court of public opinion.

In 1940 the film “My Little Chickadee” was released which starred the legendary sexpot Mae West and the equally legendary lush W. C. Fields.   It was the first – and last – time they would appear together.   West and Fields had also written the screenplay, or rather West wrote it with some input from Fields in the rare moments he wasn’t totally sloshed, and there is a scene in it in which some of the dialogue is purportedly taken from West’s own experience of thirteen years earlier, when she had been briefly jailed in New York on the rather Socratic charge of “corrupting the morals of youth” over the Broadway play “Sex” that she had written, produced, directed, and, of course, starred in herself.   In the scene in the film, West’s character, Miss Flower Belle Lee finds herself, through the tongue of the character played by Margaret Hamilton, the actress who had portrayed the Wicked Witch of the West the previous year and who seems to have remained in character sans green makeup for this film, appearing before a judge.   After one of her trademark flippant remarks, the judge asks her “young lady, are you trying to show your contempt for this court?”   Her famous reply was “No, your honour, I’m doing my best to conceal it”.

I trust that you, my readers, will recognize that no such concealment is being attempted here. —  Gerry T. Neal

So the Left is in a tizzy because the Ford government has cut off funding to “Harmony”, one of hundreds of “anti-racist” organizations putatively dedicated to “equity”, diversity and inclusion, and a range of other goals whose benefits they assume to be self-evident.
 
But, as one can easily discern from the comments that follow articles that trumpet the dubious merits of increasing cultural and ethnic fragmentation and new found sexual identities, a lot of taxpayers don’t buy into the scam. They pay for it but it is a classic case of ‘taxation without representation” . Many if not most Canadians have a dim view of organizations who flock to the inexhaustible bird feeder which is the government grants. And they have a dimmer view of the politicians who provide them. First in line at the trough are a consortium of Ethnocultural and Immigration lobbies who together with government patrons form a Canadian version of Orwell’s Minitrue (Ministry of Propaganda).
 
Whenever ordinary people are given the mic, one gains the impression that organizations like “Harmony” only succeed in creating “acrimony”. What Minitrue regards as “equity”, the silenced majority regards as inequity or reverse discrimination. And what they call diversity “awareness” programs are seen by many as mandatory mis-education workshops designed to make students or employees less aware of the politically incorrect facts of Canadian history.
 
Grievance mongering in Canada is a lucrative business. In fact, it is an industry. If you want to get a sense of the monstrous scale of this millstone, just visit government sites like this Click here for anti-racism article or this. Click here for Ontario anti-racism plan or this Click for Alberta article  The latter site, which outlines the Alberta government’s anti-racism community grant program, targeting small advocacy groups, informs supplicants that they may receive up to $25,000 of government funding, plus an additional $5,000 in some cases. Multiply that by a hundred and pretty soon you are talking “real money”. Keep in mind that these are only three examples of the scam. Grievance mongering in Canada is a lucrative business.
 
We talk about the outrageous scale of corporate welfare, but we can only imagine how much public money is spent on this vast propaganda apparatus when we look at the books of just one of its constituent parts.
 
“Since 2011, Harmony Movement received between $200,000 and $300,000 annually — funds tied to the former Liberal government’s inclusive education (sic) strategy. It funded interactive workshops covering topics such as Islamophobia, LGBTQ issues and anti-Indigenous racism.”
 
$200,000-$300,000! That’s a lot of money to train kids how to employ Alinsky tactics in the service of a mission founded on falsehood and treason. Imagine what we could do with that money. We could deprogram the victims of these “interactive workshops” for a fraction of that kind of money. All we would need do is give them 30 minutes of the truth and hand them a copy of “Canada in Decay” on their way out.
 
But “Harmony” is but one star in a galaxy of social justice panhandlers with begging bowls at the threshold of every government, provincial or federal, in the land.
 
 A year ago, when the Trudeau cabinet wet its pants over the growth of what Public Safety Canada called “right wing extremism”, it earmarked $23 million over two years for “multicultural programs” and national consultations on racism, that is, consultations with grievance identity groups. Whenever a progressive government calls for a national conversation on race, they mean a monologue on race, where they do the talking and Joe Taxpayer does the listening. The 2018 Budget document stated that diversity was a cornerstone of Canadian identity which is threatened by the rise of “ultranationalist movements and, protests against immigration, visible and religious minorities. “ But this year’s 2019 Budget upped the ante by assigning $45 million to the noble cause, including $17 million this year and next for an “Anti-Racism Strategy” that will underwrite community projects to fight racial discrimination. And if that doesn’t take your breath away, the budget also sets aside $25 million over five years for projects to celebrate “Black Canadian” communities, which of course have withstood decades of withering white racism. All of this adds up to what, almost $100 million in two years?
 
That’s a stiff price to counter a movement which, according to “far right specialist” Barbara Perry of the Ontario Institute of Technology consists of only around 125 groups. Forgive me if I get the feeling that if there was no “far right” extremist movement in Canada, the government would have to create one. Otherwise a lot of useless bureaucrats and crusaders would be out of a job. Perhaps the government should consider funding us as well. I mean, we have to eat too. They could frame it as a public works program to prime the pump of a flagging economy. Maybe they are already doing that by employing moles and informants in our ranks. As Lenin said, the best way to fight the opposition is to lead it.
 
Keep in mind that all of the aforementioned grants are not inclusive of the grants given to ethno-cultural organizations in the name of multiculturalism which in English Canada totaled an estimated $1 billion per year in the two fiscal years of 2012/2013 and 2014/2015, and over $920 million in 2013/2014. In 2014/2015 it was $720 million. In 2015, Quebec received $340.6 million under the Canada-Quebec Accord on Immigration. There are more than 65 organizations on this gravy train which is picking up steam (and dollars) as the years go by. One of them, “S.U.C.C. E. S. S. , a Chinese immigration advocacy group, has received so much government money that it operates 20+ offices in Metro Vancouver. Click for article No wonder there are so many organizations, including post-secondary schools and churches that are grasping for hand-outs. As immigration analyst Dan Murray observed, “Most Canadians do not have a million to a billion dollars to throw around, but Ottawa does.” No kidding. And Doug Ford is channelling the anger of Canadians.
 
In reporting Ford’s cuts, HuffPost scribe Mohamed Omar laments that this news “comes as the spectre of extremism haunts communities in Canada and around the world.” But the extremism that Mr. Omar refers to is the extremism of those who are attempting to oppose his brand of extremism, aka globalism, the most extremist agenda that any totalitarian movement ever conceived.  Nothing in modern human history can match the extremely rapid and profound demographic transformation of Canadian, American and European societies wrought by globalism in the past quarter century —aided and abetted by globalist politicians and media hacks who now soil their trousers as they behold the ‘extremism’ of a broad swathe of ordinary people who won’t get with the program.
 
Omar notes that ” Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland told the UN Security Council that neo-Nazis, white supremacists and “incels, nativists, and radical anti-globalists” threaten the stability of the country.” Seriously? Nothing has been more destabilizing than globalism. Globalism took a wrecking ball to this country. Globalism destroyed our manufacturing sector and out-sourced a million jobs. Globalism imposed an annual net fiscal burden on Canadian taxpayers of $20-35 billion, the difference between the taxes paid by low-skilled immigrants and the cost of social services provided to them. Globalism eroded our national sovereignty and cut the nation from its traditional ethno-cultural moorings. Many would maintain that we are not even a nation anymore, but a ‘post-national’ state, as Justin Trudeau once boasted. Telling us that the people who fight this most transformative and destabilizing process are destabilizing the country is like blaming firefighters for the water damage they caused in trying to save the building while letting the arsonist off the hook. It is like comparing the harm caused by the violent actions of deranged individuals inspired by an ideology you don’t like to a KT asteroid event. Get real Freeland! The problem is not “radical” anti-globalists but radical globalism!
 
 The extremism of hyper immigration is not a “spectre” but an ongoing event of mind-blowing scale, and the Great Replacement is not an optical illusion or a conspiracy “theory” but a reality. No “anti-racist” workshop can disguise it. No infusion of taxpayer funding can hide it. Despite their most determined efforts to make people disbelieve what they see, despite a thousand hours of classroom indoctrination, and the subliminal messaging of TV commercials, movies and popular music, the political elite cannot keep the blinders on us forever. Eventually reality breaks through like a battering ram, and scales fall from more and more eyes. Reality is making converts every day.
 
The truth is that the archipelago of organizations which form the “progressive” alliance– the political parties, the environmental NGOs, the SJW advocacy groups, the CBC, the molly-coddled arts community, liberal arts academia—all feed off the taxpayer tit in one way or another. These instruments of Cultural Marxist subversion can therefore be regarded as hot air balloons kept aloft only by the injection of conscripted money from the very people they wish to marginalize, displace or punish. Without this money, without subsidies and/or tax deductions, the Canadian “Left” would be a paper tiger, and the political class exposed for what it is, a fringe group. The tail that wags the dog. Take the fledgling “Canadian Anti-Hate Network” (please). Or is it “The Anti-Canadian Hate Network? They needed a start-up grant from the (U.S.) Southern Poverty Law (Lie) Center just to get online resource set up. Any race-baiting smear group worth its salt in Canada needs our tax dollars to survive. Soros and the SPLC have deep pockets but they can’t support every quisling Tom, Dick or Harry who comes along wanting to undermine Western civilization.
 
Good riddance “Harmony”. Let you be the first of a hundred other anti-Canadian parasites to feel the blade on your neck. Good luck in finding a real job.

Harmony Movement, Anti-Racism Group In Ontario, Shutting Down After 25 Years Due To Funding Cuts

But the provincial government claims it never applied for funding.

TORONTO — An Ontario organization that has been providing anti-racism education programs to teachers and students across the province says funding cuts are forcing it to shut down its operations.

Toronto-based Harmony Movement will have to lay off 11 full-time staff, Cheuk Kwan, the group’s executive director, told HuffPost Canada. Founded in 1994, the organization facilitated equity-focused, anti-racism workshops for 59 out of 60 English school boards in the province.

The Ontario government informed the group last December that it would no longer be receiving provincial funding, Kwan said.

The news comes as the spectre of extremism haunts communities in Canada and around the world. Last month, a terrorist attack on two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand killed 50 people, many gunned down while in silent prayer. The shooter posted a manifesto online before the attack claiming he wanted to create “an atmosphere of fear” against Muslims, according to The Guardian.

“This is unfortunate, because if you look at the [2017] Quebec mosque shootingand then now you look at [Christchurch], more and more … we are under the threat of white supremacy. We need to deal more with this kind of threat beyond the three Rs and getting your math and English right,” Kwan said.

According to Statistics Canada data released last November, hate crimes in 2017 were up 47 per cent compared to the year prior, with most of the incidents targeting Muslim, Jewish, and black populations. Most of that jump was seen in Ontario and Quebec. Before that, StatCan data pointed to a 253 per cent increase in police-reported hate crimes against Muslims between 2012 and 2015, according to Global News.

Regular funding process wasn’t followed: Kwan

Since 2011, Harmony Movement received between $200,000 and $300,000 annually — funds tied to the former Liberal government inclusive education strategy. It funded interactive workshops covering topics such as Islamophobia, LGBTQ issues and anti-Indigenous racism.

Beyond standard lectures, program manager Rima Dib said some were two-day long events that gave students and educators tools and practical advice, rather than just raising awareness about discrimination or oppression.

“Everything from how to respond [to discrimination,] how to interrupt, how to challenge stereotypes to how to lead an initiative in your school that challenges an injustice,” she said.

The funding process generally started in the spring when the government would ask Harmony Movement and other groups providing similar programs to apply for funding.

That didn’t happen last year.

Kwan said the group was told to hold off applying because no funding decisions could be made until after the provincial election and budget priorities were set.

But in December, the group received a letter that said because the province’s $14.5 billion deficit is “a significant concern,” the government had to make “necessary decisions to reduce spending wherever possible”

A spokesperson for the Ontario education ministry told HuffPost in an email that the group did not “submit a proposal for funding to the ministry for 2018-19 or 2019-2020.”

“That’s their narrative. They said ‘well, they didn’t apply for funding.’ That’s a … hypocritical way of saying it,” Kwan said. “That we didn’t get it because we didn’t apply.”

While the ministry did not clarify if it would fund any workshops like Harmony Movement’s in the future, it said that “inclusive education connections” are already baked into several parts of its curriculum.

There’s strong demand from schools for these types of workshops, especially after incidents like the Christchurch mosque attacks, according to Toronto-based writer and activist Sidrah Ahmad.

This increase in hate crimes and a more “in-your-face form of Islamophobia” led her to develop a toolkit for educators and students called Rivers of Hope. It contains definitions and research on Islamophobia and anti-black racism, as well as stories and poetry from survivors of anti-Muslim violence.

Last year, Ahmad and other activists launched a collective to develop and facilitate free, interactive anti-Islamophobia workshops for high school students.

But Ahmad said she doesn’t want to see demand for anti-Islamophobia education spike only after a tragedy.

“That’s what we’re trying to show people at these workshops, the everyday nature of [Islamophobia] and how this stuff is happening every day. People are being harassed, bullied in school … this is all happening on a regular basis, but it’s almost like people don’t believe it or want to think about it or address it unless there’s some horrific massacre.”

Aima Warriach, a Muslim student who wears the niqab and hijab, helps facilitate the interactive workshops. She says Muslim students can experience “constant emotional labour” in schools and at times might feel pressured to justify or explain if any violence incidents happen to be carried out by a Muslim.

“What the Rivers of Hope kind of does is alleviate that type of labour from students and puts the responsibility on teachers educating themselves and other students educating themselves.”

Rivers of Hope received a one-time grant last year from a non-profit to help develop its workshops and pay its facilitators an honourarium, Ahmad said.

The group is now fundraising to develop a new program aimed at elementary school students, but Ahmad said she wants to see the province take a more active role in funding anti-racism education programs.

“Ideally we shouldn’t need to exist,” Ahmad said. “All of this should be taken care of within the school. We’re kind of like a Band-Aid coming in and being put on because there’s a problem..”

For Dib, Harmony Movement’s work is essential because it can work as a proactive measure to fight against the “alienation” that led to the Christchurch shooting.

“We talk about [tragedies like Christchurch] and wish there’s something [to do], and in fact there really is. We’ve been doing it. Our organization has been around 25 years. Last year alone we worked with 5,800 students and there’s a real connection between education and attitude and behaviour,” she said.

“What our programs are based on is [that] our ideas inform our attitudes and our attitudes inform our actions. If our ideas are based on stereotypes and biases, our attitudes are prejudiced and are our behaviours are discriminatory.”

Harmony Movement is set to close on June 30.
