OTTAWA – On the same day another Canadian was sentenced to death on drug charges in China, MPs were warned Canada must adopt a tougher stance with the Asian nation.
The Guangzhou Municipal Intermediate Court announced Canadian Xu Weihong’s penalty on Thursday and said an alleged accomplice, Wen Guanxiong, had been given a life sentence.
The brief court statement gave no details but local media in the southern Chinese city at the heart of the country’s manufacturing industry said Xu and Wen had gathered ingredients and tools and began making the drug ketamine in October 2016. Police later confiscated more than 120 kilograms of the drug from Xu’s home
“Canada opposes the use of the death penalty in all cases, everywhere,” said Global Affairs Canada spokesman John Babcock. “Canada has consistently raised our firm opposition to the death penalty with China and will continue to do so.”
He said Canadian diplomats have given Xu consular assistance and were present for the sentencing. Canada is seeking clemency. Xu was arrested two years before Canada detained Huawei executive Meng Wanzhou on U.S. extradition charges.

Death sentences are automatically referred to China’s highest court for review and are not rare for cases involving large amounts of drugs.
More than 18 months ago, in apparent retaliation for Meng’s arrest, China detained former Canadian diplomat Michael Kovrig and Canadian entrepreneur Michael Spavor, accusing them of vague national security crimes.
China also handed a death sentence to convicted Canadian drug smuggler Robert Schellenberg in a sudden retrial after he had already been sentenced.
Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said there was no connection between Xu’s sentencing and current China-Canada relations.
“I would like to stress that China’s judicial authorities handle the relevant case independently in strict accordance with Chinese law and legal procedures,” Wang said at a daily briefing Thursday.
Canada’s former ambassador to China David Mulroney told a parliamentary committee meeting on Thursday that it’s time for a change in Canada’s approach to the country, a change he doesn’t believe the Liberal government is yet willing to make.
“It is not clear that the government has completely given up the fiction that China is our friend,” he said. “This long overdue course correction must be shared with Canadians who would be enormously reassured.”

In June, a group of high-profile Canadians wrote a letter calling for a prisoner exchange with Meng to get Spavor and Kovrig back, which Prime Minister Justin Trudeau promptly rejected. Mulroney said that letter was concerning.
“It worries me when I see people who are thought leaders seem to lack the sense of energy to defend our national interests,” he said.
He said he believes prominent people, former politicians and government officials, doing businesses with China should have to be upfront about any business ties.
“If you choose to go to work for China or another country, you can do that, but you have to be transparent.”
Mulroney argued for Canada to stand with allies to pressure China together. He said China can punish one country economically, but can’t do that to a coalition of countries standing together.
“The reality is that Canada has what China needs,” he said. “China needs the products that Canada, Australia and the United States produce.”
MPs also heard warnings about China’s motives in Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Hong Kong is becoming a second Tibet
The leader of Tibet’s unofficial government-in-exile warned Canadian MPs that China is attempting to subjugate Hong Kong and Taiwan just as it did to his country more than 70 years ago.
Lobsang Sangay, president of the Central Tibetan Administration, testified that Hong Kong is losing its freedoms just as his country once did.

“Hong Kong is becoming a second Tibet.”
Tibet was an independent country until 1950, but after a brief battle with Chinese soldiers came under central control. As with Hong Kong, the country had some autonomy, but that disappeared in 1959.
“All those promises made to the Tibetan people were betrayed and they will be in Hong Kong as well,” he said. “All this clearly shows that what happened in Tibet 60 years ago is happening all over the world today.”
Sangay said China will be a democracy in time and the leadership is simply fighting against history, but he said it is up to the international community to push them in the right direction.
“Democracy is inevitable. We must push China to embrace democracy and human rights.”
The Only Immigration Reformer Running for the Leadership of the Conservative Party of Canada: Derek Sloan Promises Massive Cutbacks in Annual Intake
I will reduce Canada’s immigration target from 350,000 a year to 150,000 a year, which will put us near the average for developed countries.
I am the only leadership candidate who has pledged to lower immigration levels. My opponents are happy with the status quo.
We absolutely must offer Canadians a real, clear difference in policies from what the Liberals are already doing. Canadian voters aren’t going to support a “Liberal Lite” version of what Trudeau already gives them, but they will elect someone who’s different.
I am the only CPC leadership candidate who can beat Trudeau, because I’m the only candidate who offers this difference.
Our respective stances on the issue of immigration provide a great example of this.
In addition, I will rescind Canada’s signature of the UN Migration Compact, and I’ll secure our borders by reforming our system to make it easier to turn away false refugee claimants.
My plan is based on reality, not feelings.
Canadian voters are ready for a new approach to immigration. A May 2019 Leger poll showed that 63% of us said that the government should prioritize limiting immigration numbers because Canada is reaching a limit in its ability to integrate them.
That was before COVID-19.
Canadian voters desperately want an alternative to Team Trudeau’s policies, but if our party elects a leader who can offer nothing but “Liberal Lite”, we’ll be soundly rejected.
I am the only leadership candidate who offers a genuine policy difference from those of the Liberals on immigration, refugees, and a host of other issues.
That makes me the only candidate capable of defeating Justin Trudeau, and that’s why I’m the candidate you should make your #1 choice on the ballot!
France’s Cathedrals on Fire: ‘The Final Stage of De-Christianization’? Posted on July 27, 2020 by Giulio Meotti, Cultural Editor, Il Foglio July 25, 2020 at 5:00 am
“The desecration continues to grow in Europe. Recent acts on statues of the Virgin Mary in French churches show how much these gestures are the result of barbaric hatred. They call for reactions. Catholics can no longer remain silent”. — Cardinal Robert Sarah, January 10, 2020.
“We must try everything, while it is still possible, to save our civilization. Our civilization is the Greek, Roman, Judeo-Christian heritage”.
— Alain Finkielkraut, author, L’Opinon, December 17, 2013.
If France keeps failing to protect its Christian identity, France as we know it will cease to exist; it will become a different place entirely.
. The recent fire at the Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul of Nantes on July 18 is believed to have been started deliberately. Only a year ago, a massive blaze nearly totally gutted the Cathedral of Notre-Dame de Paris. After that, the historic Church of Saint-Sulpice in Paris caught fire, as well as the Basilica of Saint Denis.
Pictured: Firefighters work to put out the flames at the Cathedral of Nantes on July 18, 2020. (Photo by Sebastien Salom-Gomis/AFP via Getty Images) A leading curator of New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, Keith Christiansen, was criticized for posting on Instagram a painting of Alexandre Lenoir saving France’s monuments from the ravages of the French Revolution.
Christiansen wrote: “Alexandre Lenoir battling the revolutionary zealots bent on destroying the royal tombs in Saint Denis. How many great works of art have been lost to the desire to rid ourselves of a past of which we don’t approve. And how grateful we are to people like Lenoir who realized that their value — both artistic and historical — extended beyond a defining moment of social and political upheaval and change”. Christiansen was criticizing the current removal and desecration of historic monuments. He could not have known that, a few weeks later, another French cathedral would be vandalized and an ancient organ, which had survived Lenoir’s revolutionary zealots, destroyed by the blaze. The fire at the Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul of Nantes is believed to have been started deliberately. It was only a year ago that a massive blaze nearly totally gutted the Cathedral of Notre-Dame de Paris. After that, the historic Church of Saint-Sulpice in Paris caught fire, as well as the Basilica of Saint Denis (the same depicted in the painting posted by Christiansen). “The fire in Nantes Cathedral, after Notre-Dame de Paris, should make our elites reflect on the great disorder and the great change, decivilization is underway”, Philippe de Villiers, the author and former French minister commented.
“In France there is a low-noise destruction of the Christian roots”, said the philosopher Michel Onfray. “There are about one or two anti-Christian acts a day and it takes a burning cathedral to start talking about it”. Six major French cathedrals and churches have caught fire during the last year and a half: Notre Dame, Nantes, Rennes, Saint-Sulpice, Lavaur and Pontoise. Perhaps that is why historian Rémi Brague called the fire at Notre Dame “our 9/11”. The Observatory of Religious Heritage listed a total of 20 French churches that caught fire in just one year
. Little publicized and less condemned, attacks against Christian places of worship in France are multiplying and reaching alarming proportions. The Nantes fire was simply the latest in a succession of church destructions that have been going on for years and have apparently not scandalized anyone. Four years ago, the Saint-Nicolas Basilica in Nantes was almost destroyed by fire. It had completed a renovation in 2014 and was in perfect condition. The first reports in the French media about the vandalism of churches were published ten years ago. Last year, there was one week in which four French churches were desecrated.
Cardinal Robert Sarah, a Guinean prelate of the Catholic Church, wrote: “The desecration continues to grow in Europe. Recent acts on statues of the Virgin Mary in French churches show how much these gestures are the result of barbaric hatred. They call for reactions. Catholics can no longer remain silent”.
Cardinal Sarah added: “Desecration and vandalism in churches are the sad reflection of a sick civilization that gets caught up in the net of evil. Bishops, priests, faithful must keep strength and courage”. Some secular public figures have spoken out against the attacks. “Hands off my church!” read the title of a French petition of writers, journalists, politicians and university professors, who demanded the protection of churches.
Religious affairs expert Nina Shea wrote that the perpetrators are anarchists, thieves, militant leftists, Satanists and Islamists, who all share the same hate for France and Western civilization. Anti-Semitism seems to go hand-in-hand with anti-Christian sentiment. In France, synagogues are protected “like fortresses“; Jewish schools have been targeted by terror attacks, and Jews have been advised not to wear any religious symbols for their own safety.
Anti-Christian incidents have risen by 285% between 2008 and 2019. The magazine Reveue des deux mondescalled the attacks on churches “the tragedy of French churches”. In addition, more than 5,000 French churches are threatened because of their decaying structures. 875 (of) France’s churches were vandalized in 2018. In 2019, 1,052 anti-Christian acts took place.
“I think there is a rising hostility in France against Christianity and the symbols of Christianity”, noted Ellen Fantini, director of the Vienna-based Observatory of Intolerance and Discrimination Against Christians in Europe.
“Every day, at least two churches are profaned”, French MP Valerie Boyer told the Sun.
Gilbert Collard, MP of the National Rally party, compared the fire in Nantes with the recent decision by the Turkish authorities to convert the former Cathedral of Hagia Sophia into a mosque. “The symbols go up in flames”, he said.
In recent years, French churches have also been targeted by a series of provocations and attacks by Islamists. Dalil Boubakeur, rector of the Grand Mosque in Paris and the president of the French Council of Muslim Faith, asked France to turn the country’s empty churches into mosques. In Saint-Étienne-du-Rouvray, in northern France, two Islamic State terrorists killed Father Jacques Hamel during a morning Mass. The shock was immediate and immense. Islamists were also planning to strike Notre-Dame de Paris and actually did succeed in conducting an ISIS-inspired terrorist attack on Strasbourg’s Christmas Market.
Boubakeur’s proposal reflects a realistic understanding of French Christian patrimony. “Abandoned, desecrated, transformed, churches are turned into performance halls, discos, restaurants, wine cellars… Everything to escape demolition”, noted the journalist Marie de Greef-Madelin in the magazine Valeurs Actuelles. These transformations are sometimes called the “second life of France’s churches”. “At the current rate, France will lose 10% of its churches and chapels by 2030”, predicts Édouard de Lamaze, president of the Observatory of Religious Heritage. “Either because they will be sold or because they will be destroyed”. The Basilica of Saint Denis, burial place of French kings, is already a Christian museum in an Islamized suburb of Paris, and the Cathedral of Notre-Dame, before the fire, had become a museum for tourists. “We have reached the final stage of de-Christianization”, commented the political analyst Jerome Fourquet, as if the fires at its major cathedrals were a symbol of France’s dispossession of a territory, a history and an identity. “How much worse can it get depends on what line activists are willing to draw for themselves”, noted Ellen Fantini, director of Vienna’s Observatory of Intolerance and Discrimination Against Christians in Europe. “Will they stop at burning an empty church? Will they stop at decapitating statues?” “We are at a crossroads” said the French author Alain Finkielkraut. “We must try everything, while it is still possible, to save our civilization. Our civilization is the Greek, Roman, Judeo-Christian heritage”. Europe is not an abstract construction. Its identity is determined by many sources. Christian identity is obviously the most important. If France keeps failing to protect it, France as we know it will cease to exist; it will become a different place entirely. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ (IWC Editor comments : The group that is most likely responsible for the fires at the French churches is the Muslim Brotherhood and its many sympathizers. Canada’s Chief Public Health Officer, Dr. Theresa Tam, said this week that the coronavirus pandemic may continue for years, as will measures taken to combat it, like mandatory masking and physical distancing, even if researchers manage to discover a vaccine.
This latest “news” is just the latest installment in the bizarre world of ever-shifting goalposts being laid down by many of our public health officials, most notably in Canada by Dr. Theresa Tam.
Hearing that we may be forced to take measures against COVID-19 for “years” to come is quite different from what we heard when the lockdown began. Back then, we only needed a few weeks, maybe a month, to “flatten the curve” and ensure there was enough space in hospitals.
But that’s been the story of this pandemic. We’ve received confusing and contradictory advice throughout. Dr. Tam spent months telling us we should not wear masks because it might actually increase the spread, until she reversed her position on them at the same time as the World Health Organization did. Now they’re mandatory.
We were told limiting international air travel and closing the border to non-essential traffic wouldn’t work right up until the day that they closed the borders.
We were told our government was prepared for the pandemic, when now we know it wasn’t.
If Dr. Tam wanted us to take her predictions about the future of this pandemic seriously, she shouldn’t have spent months passing off WHO directives that were made at the behest of the Communist Party of China as medical advice that would help Canadians.
I realized months ago that Dr. Theresa Tam was not serving the interests of Canadians’ health, and I called for her to be fired. I stand by this position.
We must remain vigilant against government overreach that uses this public health crisis as a cover to “temporarily” remove liberties that will never be restored.
We must guard against edicts imposed in the name of public safety that are really designed for compliance and control.
We must demand that our government recognize that measures taken to limit the spread of COVID-19 have psychological, physical, and economic consequences that are as real and dangerous as any virus.
I remain 100% against mandating masks in Canada.
I also remain 100% against a mandatory COVID-19 vaccine, should one be developed. If Canadians volunteer for a vaccine, that should be up to them. It’s called “vaccine choice”, but “no mandatory vaccines” must be the first principle.
And I remain 100% confident that Canadians can overcome the threat of COVID-19 without surrendering any of the foundational liberties that make Canada the best country in the world!
Frederick, to support me in this fight for our civil liberties, please chip in $25 today to help our campaign.
PS: Standing up, without apology, for the freedoms that Canada was built on, is the reason I got involved in this leadership race. To support me, please chip in $25.
The claim that mass immigration is a necessary component of globalization is one of the many lies our politicians and the media propagate regularly. In the last election campaign, Justin Trudeau accused Max Bernier of “trying to make people more fearful about the migrations that are happening in the world, the opportunities around globalization”.
This lie was deliberately concocted by Canadian academics back in the early 1990s. The argument was also that multiculturalism was the best political framework for the integration of masses of immigrants within a global economy. Will Kymlicka, the foremost theorist of multiculturalism, told thousands of students that “massive numbers of people are moving across borders, making virtually every country more polyethnic in composition”. Another exponent of this lie was Charles Taylor, the best known Canadian political theorist in the post WWII era. He wrote: “All societies are becoming increasingly multicultural, while at the same time becoming more porous. This porousness means that they are more open to multinational migration“. The fact is that all the highly advanced and globalized nations of the non-Western world are thoroughly globalized economically yet none of them promote mass immigration and multiculturalism. Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, China, India — you name it — do not have porous borders. The difference between Western nations and non-Western nations is that Western nations are dominated by an ideology that is more appropriately called “globalism”. We should not confuse globalism with globalization. Globalization is an inevitable component of the development of modern transportation and communication technologies. It is a process that can be traced back to the European discovery of the world, the commercial linking of the Old and the New world, the development of shipping and railway networks in the 1800s, followed by the spread of air travel and modern telecommunication systems, telegraph, radio, telephone, television, and the internet. Globalism, on the other hand, is not an inevitable phenomenon but a political ideology aimed at the liquidation of the national identities of European peoples across the world. It is a deliberate political choice, no more inevitable than communism or transsexualism. Yes, the absolute number of migrants in the globe has been increasing. The current estimate is that there were 272 million migrants in 2019, but this is a minuscule proportion of the world’s 7.8 billion people. Only 3.5 percent of the global population can be categorized as a migrant. The vast majority of humans continue to live in their country of birth. Trudeau, Kymlicka, Taylor, and the entire media and university establishments are lying. In the case of highly globalized Asia, immigrants have accounted for a mere 1.4-1.6% of Asia’s population over the last 20 years. Moreover, the vast majority of migrants outside the West are “intra-regional” in the sense that they are moving in response to crises at home from one bordering nation in Asia, Africa, or Latin America to another. Hardly any of these migrants are granted citizenship in the bordering nations they are migrating to. The ones moving to such nations as the United Arab Emirates are temporary labor migrants coming to wash up the bodies and clean the toilets of the parasitic ruling class. The migrants who are actually becoming citizens in other nations, not just crossing a border temporarily, are coming to the West. And since the Third World is bloated with masses of humans, the absolute number of these immigrants is very high, in the millions, and this is leading to the replacement of Whites in their own homelands.
Whites are only about 10% of the world’s population. Back in the year 2000, when only a few were talking about immigration replacement, and such talk was not deemed a “conspiracy theory”, The Guardian happily predicted the “last days of a white world“: “We are near a global watershed, a time when white people will not be in the majority in the developed world” — in their own nations.
Cultural Marxism
To properly understand how the modern economic reality of “globalization” was transmuted into the ideological hysteria of “globalism”, we need to frame this discussion within the wider ideological framework of “cultural Marxism”. By “cultural Marxism” I understand a wide variety of theories, movements, ideas and names, such as feminism, dependency theory, history from below, the Frankfurt School, Derrida’s deconstruction, Edward Said’s critique of Orientalism, Michel Foucault’s “New Historicism” and other influential currents developed in academia after WWII. These schools of thought are devoid of merit, but I do find Foucault’s claim that “every field of knowledge presupposes at the same time a field of power relations” particularly relevant to understand the incredible field of power relations currently held by cultural Marxism over every aspect of Western society.
The center of gravity of cultural Marxism is the claim that races don’t exist, that racism is the worst moral crime a White human being can commit, and that Western nations have always been institutionally racist in their “systemic discrimination” against minorities, and in the special privileges that White heterosexual men have enjoyed against “racialized” minorities, women and homosexuals. This cultural Marxist field of knowledge has included more recently the idea that Western nations with a strong sense of cultural identity are inherently illiberal and that liberalism requires mass immigration and racial diversity. The field of power relations associated with this field of cultural Marxist knowledge is overwhelmingly obvious in the swift disciplinary punishment any dissenter against this knowledge faces in the West. This is why the very use of the word “globalism” or “globalist” has now been identified as an “anti-Semitic slur” “deployed in far-right and conspiracy-theory-minded circles on the Internet“.
They don’t want Whites to learn that globalization can be practiced in the most intense fashion without allowing a single migrant into your nation and without imposing multiculturalism.
Japan: totally globalized yet zero diversity
They want Whites to believe that the economic integration of nations via transportation and communication technologies entails mass immigration. They don’t want Whites to know that the vast majority of humans (96.5%) continue to remain in their country of birth despite centuries of globalization. They don’t want Whites to know that only their nations have been targeted for total race replacement by those who control our financial institutions, corporations and media organizations.
The Wrecking Crew At Work: The Bank of Canada is Complicit in Erasing Canadian History
WE NEED TO STOP THIS
Beginning in the year 2018, there were two concurrent versions of the C$ 10 produced, one version of the note hosts an image of Canadian civil rights activist, Voila Desmond, while another version of the note has a revised image of John A. Macdonald, looking rather old, tired and ugly. Around the same time, the version of Wilfred Laurier on the $5 bill was replaced with an image of him looking old and clapped out. It rather appears that there was a plan in place to remove Macdonald and Laurier from the $10 and $5 bills permanently. Perhaps the plotters had the idea that the generaltHE public would be more accepting of their removal if they were both made to look as ugly as possible first.
The current plan of the Bank of Canada is to remove Macdonald and Laurier, from the $10 and the $5 and to put them on $50 and $100 notes, while removing Robert Borden and William Lyon Mackenzie King off of these higher value notes for good. This has the effect of erasing Canadian history.
A contest is currently underway to replace Laurier on the $5 bill, with a winner to be announced.
Perhaps individuals such as Viola Desmond are worthy of recognition, however she is simply nowhere near Macdonald or Laurier in her importance of her contribution to Canadian history. For that reason, it is important that these two Canadian Prime Ministers retain their positions on the high circulation $10 and $5 bills.
In addition, Robert Borden and William Lyon Mackenzie King should not be tampered with either.
Robert Borden was Prime Minister during the First World War. His government passed the War Measures Act, created the Canadian Expeditionary Force, and eventually introduced compulsory military service, which sparked the 1917 conscription crisis. The Borden government dealt with the consequences of the Halifax Explosion, introduced women’s suffrage for federal elections, and used the North-West Mounted Police to break up the 1919 Winnipeg general strike.
MacKenzie King was the dominant Canadian political leader from the 1920s through the 1940s. He served as the tenth prime minister of Canada in 1921–1926, 1926–1930 and 1935–1948. He is best known for his leadership of Canada throughout the Second World War (1939–1945) when he mobilized Canadian money, supplies and volunteers to support Britain while boosting the economy and maintaining morale on the home front. He was the longest-serving prime minister in Canadian history. A survey of scholars in 1997 ranked MacKenzie King as the first in importance among all Canada’s prime ministers, ahead of Sir John A. Macdonald and Sir Wilfrid Laurier.
Patriots should voice their displeasure to the Bank Of Canada, by calling 1-800-303-1282
REFUSE TO ACCEPT VIOLA DESMOND $10 NOTES. DEMAND A TRADITIONAL $5 or $10 NOTE WITH THE IMAGE OF A BONA-FIDE CANADIAN PRIME MINISTER ON IT.

The biggest reason why Whites are believed to be racist is that they are far the greatest achievers in human history and they created the nations non-whites crave to inhabit. The very existence of White Men goes against the principle of equality since they are responsible for almost 100% of the greatest achievements in all the fields of human endeavor since ancient historical times. This is a big reason why White nations are earmarked for total race mixing, and why White Males are the most resented group.
The following lists come directly from tweets I wrote over the last few months. These tweets are based on careful documentation and extensive research. One of the reasons I was suspended from twitter is that hundreds of complaints were regularly sent against me for speaking about the unique greatness of White men. These lists will show that White men are responsible for almost everything that is noble, beautiful, and excellent in history, far surpassing the achievements of all the other races combined. The sheer fact that White men came up with all the disciplinary fields taught in our universities speaks volumes: archaeology, botany, economics, sociology, anthropology, history, biology, chemistry, genetics, physics, medicine, literature, theology, architecture…all of them. The greatest painters, novelists, historians, biologists, physicists, classical composers, poets, car designers, mathematicians, architects are White men. White men were the greatest nation builders in history. They discovered and mapped the entire earth, every river, mountain, sea, desert — including every territory inhabited by non-whites.

[If the government really was serious about deporting illegals or others deemed inadmissible, those persons would be incarcerated until they could be removed. Actually, the endgame is to replace the European founding/settler people of Canada — Old Stock Canadians/ les Quebecois de souche — with a new Third World majority as soon as possible. Thus, deporting even those few found inadmissible, is just not a high priority.]
The feds don’t know the whereabouts of 34,000 foreigners ordered deported: Auditor General

OTTAWA – The federal government does not know the whereabouts of over 34,000 foreigners who were ordered to be removed from the country, including nearly 3,000 criminal cases, according to findings by Canada’s Auditor General.
“The timely removal of foreign nationals who are found inadmissible protects the integrity and fairness of Canada’s immigration system. It is also one of the most effective ways to deter those who might otherwise seek to abuse the system. In the case of criminals, timely removal protects the safety and security of Canadians,” reads the report published on Wednesday.
COVID-19: How much social distance do we need?
In Canada, if a foreign tourist overstays their visa or an asylum claimant’s request is denied and they’ve exhausted all their legal recourses to appeal, the federal government can emit an enforceable removal order towards that person to ensure they don’t remain in the country. From that point on, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is responsible to enforce their removal.

Failed asylum cases constitute the largest portion of foreigners ordered to leave the country each year, according to the report.
But the number of asylum claims increased significantly in the last three years, jumping from 50,000 in 2017 to 64,000 in 2019. Thus, the CBSA considers that the number of removals it must execute will also continue to increase in the future.
And yet, the department struggles to expel those foreigners, the auditor general concluded. In 2018-2019, CBSA only managed to remove 6,700 cases from its removal backlog.
“The Canada Border Services Agency removed few of the foreign nationals in Canada who were subject to enforceable removal orders. Despite a recent increase in removals, the level of enforceable removal orders remained largely unchanged, even for priority cases… Most orders had been enforceable for several years,” the auditor general writes.

That issue may be related to the fact that CBSA has in fact lost track of 34,700 individuals ordered to be removed and who now have a warrant in their name. Of that number, nearly 3,000 are considered to be top priorities because they are criminal cases, i.e. they may pose a safety or security risk.
Canadian law demands that CBSA and police forces investigate once every year or three years (depending on the case) for new information on their whereabouts.
But the audit found that they rarely do that either.
“We determined that at least 70 per cent of all criminal cases were not reviewed annually, and 75% of all failed asylum cases were not reviewed every 3 years as required. Agency officials confirmed that cases in its wanted inventory are generally considered a low risk to public safety and are not an agency priority,” reads the report.

The federal government watchdog also found significant issues with the government’s data quality, case management protocols and information sharing between CBSA and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, which led to “avoidable delays” in thousands of cases.
For example, roughly 1,500 cases had simply not been worked on for at least two years, including 150 involving serious criminals. In another 3,400 files, CBSA simply lacked the travel documents needed to remove the foreigners and, in half the cases, hadn’t even tried to obtain them.

Public Safety Minister Bill Blair, the cabinet member responsible for the border agency, said the government accepts the auditor’s recommendations.
In addition to improving its removals strategy, the border agency will enhance the way it tracks and triages cases to ensure priority ones are addressed promptly, Blair said in a statement.
But Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer said it was another example of the Liberal government being unable to ensure a fair, orderly and compassionate immigration system. “We need a government that takes this kind of thing seriously.”
Another audit published Wednesday on military equipment procurement found that poor supply chain management” often prevented the Canadian Armed Forces from receiving necessary material when needed.
“The military received materiel such as spare parts, uniforms, and rations later than the requested date half the time. Delays were frequently due to stock shortages. When stock is unavailable, materiel needs to be located elsewhere and transported to the right location, requiring additional steps in the supply chain and delaying deliveries. We found that a third of some 1 million requests were rerouted,” the audit explains.

It has been my custom for Dominion Day over the last few years, to write either sketches about specific individuals who exemplified the Canada of Confederation and her traditions or jeremiads lamenting the present state of the Dominion. I had not realized, until I checked the last six years, that this has followed an alternating pattern, in which this would be a year for a jeremiad. This suits me as the next individual I had on deck for a sketch was the great Canadian historian Donald Creighton, and while I read Donald Wright’s biography of him as recently as last year – I much prefer the chapter on him in Charles Taylor’s Radical Tories, since Wright’s political correctness infuriates me as much as it would have his subject – I would need more time than I had available to re-read Creighton’s own books in order to do him justice. So a jeremiad it is.
There is plenty for someone from my point of view to lament. There have been two traditions of thought that have borne the rather inaccurate label “conservative” in Canada. There is the old Tory tradition of Loyalism and royalism, which is monarchist rather than republican, holds the Westminster system of Parliament to be the best form of government ever to evolve on the face of the earth, dissents from the narrative of the rebellion of 1776 and is suspicious of the United States, utterly rejects socialism without fully embracing capitalism, and is socially, morally, and culturally traditionalist. Then there is neo-conservatism, which is very pro-American, holds to the basic political and economic views of nineteenth century liberalism, and regards anything from outside eighteenth to nineteenth century liberalism which has been traditionally associated with conservatism as dispensable. While the extent to which the official Conservative Party has ever really stood for either of these traditions is questionable, it was associated with the first until 1967 and the latter from about 1983 on, especially after the merger with what began as the Reform Party. I have belonged to the first tradition from the moment political thoughts first formed in my head, and am very much a representative of its right wing. Most other surviving members – David Warren is a very notable exception –speak for its left wing. In other words, I speak for a point of view, which the Liberal Party, egged on by the further left parties, and aided and abetted by the Conservatives, has striven to make as unwelcome as possible in Canada.
Earlier this year, our provincial governments, with the full backing and support of Ottawa, essentially eliminated what was left of our most basic freedoms. These freedoms are part of the Common Law tradition which we inherited when we became the Dominion of Canada on this date in 1867. They are not something which Pierre Trudeau gave us in 1982, despite the fact that our lying schoolteachers and our lying newsmedia commentators, most of whom sold their souls to the Liberal Party and its true leader in hell at the beginning of their careers, have been instilling that impression among the younger generations ever since that year. Although the Charter did not give us those freedoms, it does name four of them in its second section. The freedom of conscience and religion is the first named. The third and fourth named are freedom of peaceful assembly and freedom of association. There is no freedom of conscience and religion when the provincial government forbids us from going to Church for four months. There is no freedom of peaceful assembly when the same government tells us we cannot gather in groups larger than five or ten or whatever number. There is no freedom of association if the government tells us we must be six feet apart from each other in public at all times. The provincial governments got away with this totalitarian power grab with the help of a media-generated panic over the spread of a virus with a low fatality rate that produces mild to no symptoms in the vast majority of those who contract it, information which has been available all along to anybody willing to check out the facts.
In the meantime, the Liberal Party which was reduced to a minority government in last year’s Dominion election, took full advantage of this situation to seek, in an underhanded attack on the Magna Carta and the foundational principles of Parliament, unlimited tax and spend powers, and to prevent Her Majesty’s Loyal Opposition from doing their job of holding the government accountable in Parliament.
Then, about a month ago, when Marxist organizations in the United States found a pretext for launching a race war against white people, the Prime Minister, despite his own hands being far from clean when it comes to matters concerning race as we discovered in the election campaign last year, jumped on board the bandwagon. Even though the public health restrictions at whatever stage of easing they were at from province to province remained in effect for everybody else, they were lifted completely for the anti-white hate rallies that were organized in Canada’s major cities. The Prime Minister, who has never given the slightest indication of sincere contrition over his many personal failings, but who is always ready to give an apology on behalf of the entire country to whatever designated victim group happens to feel the most offended at any given moment, showed up for a photo op of himself “taking the knee” in a gesture of false humility at the rally in Ottawa. A few days later on his syndicated morning television show he berated our country over its supposed “systemic racism.” This was the cue for everyone else to ritually acknowledge this systemic racism, whether they understood the concept or, more likely, did not, and for the “woke” to start “cancelling” anybody who failed to participate in this now mandatory ritual.
This requirement that everybody accept this ridiculous narrative, taken from the neo-Marxist Critical Theory, is, of course, an assault on yet another of our basic freedoms. As with the others, this too is a freedom from the Common Law tradition which is named in the second section of the Charter, where it is called the “freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication.” If all Canadians are now required to confess the neo-Marxist narrative that our country is systemically racist, upon threat of being cancelled if we dissent, then it is a joke to say that we have freedom of thought, belief, opinion or expression. If the Crown broadcaster and all of the other news stations and newspapers that have been subsidized by this government are pushing this same narrative, while the government has been applying pressure to big tech social media companies to censor dissent, then there is no “freedom of the press and other media of communication.” The assault on this basic freedom has been going on since the premiership of the first Trudeau. It has been carried out in the name of combatting prejudice and promoting diversity, even though the most essential kind of diversity for a free country is the diversity of thought that is under attack.
All of Western Civilization is now threatened by these neo-Maoists who wish to raze history to the ground and bring us to Year Zero. They have the support of most of the mainstream media, the corporate world, academia, celebrities and a wide assortment of elected officials, civil servants and even the police forces they wish to see “defunded”. In Canada, they have demanded that the prestigious McGill University disown its founder and namesake. Worse, they are demanding that our country disavow the leading Father of Confederation and our first Prime Minister, Sir John A. Macdonald. Hilariously, they managed to get a newspaper or two to put trigger-warning labels on the flag. The reason this is so funny is because the flag in question is not the traditional, historical, flag of Canada, the Red Ensign, but rather the bland Maple Leaf which the Communist traitor, Lester Pearson chose to replace it with in 1965 precisely because it said nothing about Canada’s history, heritage, and legacy. Indeed, the Liberal Party’s assault on the traditional symbols of the Canada of Confederation during the premierships of Lester Pearson and Pierre Trudeau, starting with the old flag and ending with Dominion Day, could pretty much be said to have been the first wave to which the present wave of neo-Maoist, Year Zeroism is the second.
The Liberal Party rejected our country’s traditional symbols and was determined to replace them with ones bearing its own stamp. Today’s neo-Maoists demand a wholesale repudiation of our country’s founding and history. Symbols and history are important. Almost a century ago, the Mackenzie King Liberals attacked the Crown’s legitimate and necessary right to refuse an improper dissolution request (see Eugene Forsey, The Royal Power of Dissolution of Parliament, 1943). This undermined Parliament’s right to hold the Prime Minister accountable and set the stage for Prime Ministerial dictatorship (see John Farthing, Freedom Wears a Crown, 1957). This year, we have seen the largest assault on Parliamentary prerogative since then, and on the part of a minority Liberal government to boot, while all the provincial governments ran roughshod over our most basic Common Law rights and freedoms. If we had valued our traditional symbols and our history more, we would not have so willingly acquiesced in this.
While I weep for my country, I wish you all a Happy Dominion Day!
